Announcing the SciCommBites 2025 Team!

We are thrilled to announce our SciCommBites 2025 author team. Posts will resume every Wednesday, starting next week!

In this post, we introduce eight new authors that will be working on bringing you the best of science communication bites throughout 2025. Join us in giving them a warm welcome!

Juliana Goenaga

Clark Hickman

Mykyta ‘Nik’ Kliapets

Fact: Nik loves fantasy books, horror movies, black tea, and doing outreach. He has recently co-organised and narrated a catwalk in spacesuits.

Mariella A. Mestres-Villanueva

Diego Ramírez Martín del Campo

Fact: “Biologist” was one of the first words I learned in English. I was 4 years old then and from then on I knew what I wanted to study when I grew up.

Elena Reiriz Martínez

Fact: I’ve lived in many places, but wherever I go, I make sure to find a lindy hop club and a choir!

We’d also like to formally welcome new admin members Madeline Fisher and Sarah Ferguson, who will work closely with the 2025 author cohort in crafting bites that highlight exciting new research in science communication.

Héctor L. Torres Vera

Héctor started working with SciCommBites in 2023 and began administrative work in 2024. He is responsible for many of the backend management of SciCommBites, including managing and maintaining the website, post scheduling, and more.

Madeline Fisher

Madeline joined the SciCommBites administration in the summer of 2024. Her extensive work as a science writer, editor, and writing instructor has been crucial to updating SciCommBites’ author onboarding processes, and writing and editing guidelines.

Sarah Ferguson

Sarah was an author in the 2013 SciCommBites authors cohort and joined the admin team in December of 2024. She has been assisting Madeline during the updates to SciCommBites, and looks forward to offering editing and fact checking support to authors during the writing process.
